Suicide bomber dies in failed attack

The intending bomber blew himself up in an uncompleted building in the Tsohuwar Kasuwa area of the town.

A suicide bomber has died in Yobe State after a failed attack in Potiskum, the state capital.

The intending bomber blew himself up in an uncompleted building in the Tsohuwar Kasuwa area of the town, Daily Trustreports.

The incident is said to have occurred on Wednesday, February 11, at about 5:00pm.

According to witnesses, the would-be attacker approached a group of people at a local Qur’anic competition but his actions were found to be suspicious and he was stopped by guards at the event.

“Many people became suspicious of him as he started advancing. We shouted at him to leave the area, and he ran into an uncompleted building where the bomb exploded,” a witness Abubakar Salisu said.

The remains of the bomber have since been deposited at the Potiskum General Hospital.
