Doctors calling on leaders to help resolve struggles with state government

The leadership of the Osun State chapter of the Nigerian Medical Association has explained the ongoing struggle between doctors and the state government over the non-payment of salaries.

According to , Dr Adenike Odewabi, Chairman of the South-West division of the association said that the current crisis could have been avoided if the government had engaged the doctors formally.

During the meeting that held in Ile-Ife, Osun state, Odewabi emphasized that the government of Osun state was unjust to the doctors of the state and that The Rauf Aregbesola led administration had an obnoxious tax regime.

Odewabi appealed to the Federal Government, religious leaders and all authorities to look into the current doctors-government situation in Osun state and help in providing a lasting situation.
