The police in Ogun on Monday arraigned two men, Jelili Alabi, 48 and Babatunde Mufutao, 60, in an Ota Senior Magistrate Court for stealing a sheep valued N30,000.

Prosecutor Chudu Gbesi said the accused persons committed the offence at about 5:30 a.m. at Poultry Area of Gasline, off Ijoko Road, Ota, on May 6, 2016.

The accused persons were arraigned on a two-count charge of stealing and conspiracy.

Gbesi said the accused persons conspired to steal the sheep, belonging to Ahmed Sheriff, contrary to Section 390 (9) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun, 2006.
The accused persons pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against them.
The Senior Magistrate, Mr S. O. Banwo, thereafter granted bail to the accused persons in the sum of N100,000 each with two sureties in like sum.
Banwo said that the sureties must reside within the court's jurisdiction, gainfully employed, swear to an affidavit of means and produce evidence of tax payment to Ogun government.
He adjourned the case till June 9 for hearing.
