Akingbolu also included the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB), as other defendants in the suit.

President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.

The Lagos Lawyer and human rights activist, who dragged President Buhari to court, is in the news again.

This time, in a suit filed at the Federal High Court, Lagos, Barrister Kabir Akingbolu has sued the President, and his Vice, Yemi Osinbajo for not making public, their assets declaration.

Read

According Guardian Newspapers, he is “contending that by declaring their assets secretly, Buhari and Osinbajo have violated Section 172 and Section 11 (1) and (2) of the Code of Conduct for public officers under the fifth schedule to the 1999 Constitution (as amended).”

Akingbolu also included the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB), as other defendants in the suit.

He wants the court to declare as unconstitutional, the secret declaration of assets by the top two citizens of Nigeria, also he is seeking an order to compel the Code of Conduct Bureau to publicly declare the assets of the President and his vice.

You will recall that the secret declaration of assets by President Buhari and Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo did not go down well with most Nigerians, who felt that the move was a sharp contrast from the anti-corruption stance of the President.
