Alhaji Mahmud Ajeigbe, the state Commissioner for Information and Communications, made this known on Wednesday in Ilorin when he met with the new executive members of the association.
According to Ajeigbe, his ministry’s Directorate of Public Orientation will work out the modalities for the partnership with the group to ensure an effective campaign..
The commissioner also assured the group of support in making the partnership productive.
He, however, advised the poets to strive for due recognition by showcasing their prowess in poetry at every opportunity provided by the government.
Earlier, Mr Abdulganiyu Atanda, the Chairman of the group, had said the visit was to explore areas of partnership.
Atanda, who said that the association was yearning for due recognition, solicited for government’s patronage while pleading for a bus and its own secretariat.
