5 feared dead as explosion hits local radio station

The explosion occurred at the office of Tao FM 101.9, in the Okene area of the state on Monday, April 27, 2015.

 

5 people are feared to have died in Kogi State after a local radio station was bombed by unidentified attackers.

The explosion occurred at the office of Tao FM 101.9, in the Okene area of the state on Monday, April 27, 2015.

The attackers were said to have invaded the premises in the evening and shot dead two security officers before throwing an explosive into the building.

The resulting fire was said to have burned till 10pm without intervention.

The attack has been confirmed by the chairman of the Board of Directors of the station, Tom Adaba and Commissioner of Information in the state, Zainab O. Suleiman.

However, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack neither has it been confirmed by relevant security agencies in the state.
