Dr Sa’adatu Bala, the Director General of the agency made the call when she paid an advocacy visit to Hasiya Bayero Paediatrics Hospital in Kano.
She said the call was necessary in order to ensure continued support and stronger collaboration between the agency and the hospital to achieve the desired objective.
"This hospital is very important as a major provider in paediatric HIV care services, especially now with the global effort and commitment to eliminate mother to child transmission of HIV,’’ she said.
Responding, the Medical Director of the hospital, Dr Hafsat Kabir, said that the hospital needed assistance to install some laboratory equipment donated to it by a donor agency, FH1360.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the advocacy visit was part of renewed effort being made by the agency to ensure total eradication of HIV infection in children.
