Fayose, on Sunday, May 24, lifted the dusk-to-dawn curfew imposed on Ado-Ekiti on May 22, following a civil unrest caused by the Hausa community and commercial drivers.

The governor stated this in his broadcast to the people of the state in Ado-Ekiti.
He described the crisis between the two factions that led to the imposition of the curfew as unfortunate.
He urged residents to be law abiding and conduct their activities in a manner that will not cause further break down of law and order.
Fayose said that the state government lifted the curfew after security agents have restored peace in the state.
He expressed regret for the inconveniences the curfew might have caused the residents of the town.
He said the state government has also placed N2M ransom for anybody that can provide information to facilitate the arrest of those that kidnapped 11 people in different parts of the state recently.
He said that kidnapping was strange to state warning that the state government would fight it.
