Fire breaks out in Government House office

The fire outbreak at the Ebonyi Government House was however brought under control before it could cause any major damage.


A fire, today, November 13, 2015, broke out in the office of the Special Assistant to the Ebonyi State Governor on Petroleum Products pricing and Distribution at the Government House in Abakaliki​.

The fire was however brought under control before it could cause any major damage.

"We were here at the gate when people started shouting fire! Fire! And running around confused and aimlessly,” a staff, Sunday Nweze told Premium Times.

“When I got there, I saw that fire had gutted a section of the office of the SA on Petroleum. I know how to operate the fire extinguishers, because I was trained on fire fighting by one a Senior Fire Man (SFM), Mr Benjamin Igbota,” he added.

The Chief Fire Officer in charge of Government House, Owo James also confirmed the incident saying that the blaze was already under control when his team arrived.
