Sources say calm has been restored in the area, following the visit of the Chairman of the local council and the police area commander.
A security source who also spoke to Punch said “We don’t know if any casualty was recorded during Monday’s incident but there was a heavy exchange of gunfire between herdsmen and community members over a failed attack on Umunor community. Our men have been drafted there to keep the peace.”
Meanwhile, Fulani herdsmen and traditional rulers in Southern Kaduna brokered a peace dealand agreed not to attack each other on Tuesday, November 1, 2016.
