The attack is believed to have been carried out by men loyal to wanted militant leader, Terwase Agwaza.
According to Vanguard, over 28 persons also sustained serious injuries in the attack, with many in critical conditions.
The attack came less than 24 hours after the Joint Military and Police Security Task Force (JTF) in Katsina-Ala Local Government Area of the state discovered Agwaza's armoury.
The armed men were said to have invaded the town on motorbikes at about 10p.m.
In a statement by the Sole Administrator of Katsina-Ala LGA, Vera Akua, she condemned the attack, recalling a similar attack on the town a few weeks, in which a royal father was murdered.
