The trouble is said to have started due to a letter addressed to the Speaker by legislator-members of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The APC lawmakers claimed majority via the letter and sought to appoint a majority leader for the assembly after a lawmaker from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Nick Eworo defected into its fold.
The PDP lawmakers however protested the move after the letter was read by the Speaker of the Assembly, Terkimbi Kyange and sought to declare Eworo’s seat vacant.
The motion was rejected by the speaker and the situation degenerated into a free-for-all.
After the situation calmed, the Speaker adjourned sitting till Thursday, June 25.
