‘Killings still going on in Agatu,’ Governor Ortom says

According to Ortom, nine fresh corpses were recovered in the area following a recent massacre.

According to Ortom, nine fresh corpses were recovered in the area following a recent massacre, Daily Trust reports.

The governor is said to have made the disclosure on Tuesday, March 2, 2016, while speaking with journalists at the Government House in Makurdi.

“At least nine people were killed on Monday. The commissioner of police went there and reported to me that he saw nine corpses,” he said.

300 people were said to have earlier lost their lives in the massacre which took place last week.

Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered an investigation into the killings.
