Teachers reportedly embark on prayer session over unpaid salaries

According to an Instagram post by Instablog9ja, the teachers recently resorted to fasting and prayer in the state.

Akwa Ibom governor, Udom Emmanuel

"With their appointment letters in hand, Akwa Ibom State teachers begin fasting and prayers over unpaid salaries since April, last year," the picture was captioned on Instagram.

The teachers were pictured with what was said to be their appointment letters as they knelt to pray for God's intervention in getting their 16 months unpaid salary.

It was further gathered that the decision to pray with their appointment letters was agreed by the teachers in the state when alleged pleas to get their salaries from the government failed.

This is coming after pensioners in the state had demonstrated over the non-payment of their five years gratuity.
