The FCT Police Command had warned members of the public against disturbance of public peace in form of protests and demonstrations.

This is contained in a statement issued by the command’s spokesman, ASP Anjuguri Manzah on Thursday in Abuja

The statement stated that the command had observed flagrant disregard of the law by individuals and groups that hold protests and demonstrations in the territory.

It said that these actions had created unwarranted tension and apprehension among law abiding citizens.

It warned that the command would not fold its arms and watch some individuals or group of persons tamper with the existing peace in the territory.

The statement further warned that any protest resulting to the breakdown of law and order in the FCT would be decisively dealt with.

"The command hereby advises any person or group of persons who wish to embark on any demonstration to notify the FCT Commissioner of Police in writing,’’ the statement added.
