The police on Wednesday arraigned a 33-year old businessman, Bakare Suleiman, at a Kado Grade 1 Area Court in Abuja, for alleged forgery.

She alleged that the accused fraudulently collected the sum of N560, 000 from the complainant to procure a Toyota Hiace bus, which he claimed had been awarded to him by CBN from the disposable items.

The prosecutor, Judith Obatomi, told the court that the accused, who resided in Gwako village, Gwagwalada, Abuja, was facing a two-count charge of forgery and cheating.
Obatomi said that one Jimoh Oladunjuye of new Nyanya, Nassarawa state, reported the case at Utako Police Station on Oct. 10, 2015.
She said that the accused had approached the complainant at Jabi Motor Park and falsely presented a forged Central Bank of Nigeria document that showed items for auctioning.
The prosecutor, however, stated that the accused neither provided the bus nor refunded the N560,000 to the complainant.
She said that the offence contravened Sections 366 and 322 of the Penal Code law.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Judge, Mallam Abubakar Sadiq, granted bail to the accused in the sum of N200, 000 and a surety in like sum.
Sadiq adjourned the matter till April 7.
