Group attack village, kill 10 in Cross River
The Village head, Apostle Iya Effiong Orok however said that eight more bodies were discovered after the initial attack.
According to The Guardian, the herdsmen had killed two people in a similar attack on the village last week.
He said “We have lost not less than 10 people in this attack by Fulani herdsmen. They normally come during the dry season to feed their cattle; in a similar incident two years ago two people were shot dead, now its 10 people.”
The Police spokesman, Irene Ugbo, confirmed the attack and said that only one person, was killed. Ugbo also told newsmen that policemen have been drafted to the area to restore law and order.
