Board confirms death of 8 Bauchi pilgrims during

According to the statement, the other deceased person, Musa Sallau, died as a result of protracted illness.

The Bauchi State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, on Monday said that eight of its pilgrims died in Saudi Arabia while two others sustained injuries during the just concluded pilgrimage.

A statement by the board's Information Officer, Muhammad Yunusa in Bauchi, said that seven of the pilgrims died during the stampede in Muna.

It said that the Deputy Executive Secretary of the board, Alhaji Ibrahim Shehu, made the disclosure when he led officials of the board on a condolence visit to families of the deceased.

It gave the names of the deceased as: Musa Mohammed, Amina Gaba, Sule Mai-Inji, Musa Ibrahim, Sambo Udubo, Ibrahim Adamu Chindo, and Rakiya Isiyaku.

According to the statement, the other deceased person, Musa Sallau, died as a result of protracted illness.

The statement further said that the officials had visited the two injured persons in Zaki Local Government area.
