The group said in Kaduna that such initiatives would help in spreading love and understanding among various communities in the country.

Mr Daniels Akpan , Kaduna State Coordinator of the Network, said this during a discussion programme tagged `YALI Love Story’, organised to share love stories to motivate youths towards community development.

“The youth should volunteer to start doing something good for their communities.

“We want to show love by sharing our experiences, which would motivate our young brothers and sisters to start something that will impact positively on their communities.

“The youth have the power to bring change that would impact greatly on their communities Akpan said.

Miss Oluwadara Adekunle, an entrepreneur, said she ventured into agric business, helping farmers market their farm produce.

According to her, young people should not be driven by making profit only in business, but must also have the passion to make impact on the lives of people around them.

“We all know that businesses are set to make profit, but that shouldn’t be the only thing driving youths into businesses but the passion to make impact to people, community and society at large”.

Mr Jonah Yahya, a community development expert, said community services do not necessarily require money, as there were numerous activities one can volunteer for which would make positive impact on the people.

Anas Muhammad, a participant, described the programme as interesting, saying he has been motivated to pursue his dream of setting up lesson sessions for the less privilege children in his community.
