Gunmen abduct former president’s cousin in Bayelsa

The victim, identified as Serefina Otazi is also the Bayelsa State Commissioner for Local Governments.

 

A group of unknown gunmen have abducted a cousin to former president, Goodluck Jonathan, reports say.

The victim, identified as Serefina Otazi is also the Bayelsa State Commissioner for Local Governments.

Mrs Otazi was reportedly kidnapped on Sunday, December 20, 2015, in Ewoi community in the Ogbia Local Government Area of the state.

The abduction has been confirmed by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, Asinim Butswat.

The latest incident comes months after two of Jonathan’s cousins, Patience Egbeni and Kate Eni were also abducted in the same local government area.

They were later released on June 15 after almost a month in captivity.
