IPMAN to visit depots

The secretary said that the Committee would also checkmate unwholesome practices by persons who hoard or divert products to neighbouring African countries.

IPMAN says scarcity of petrol continues without product to load

The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) said it would visit depots across the country to monitor challenges in the distribution and supply of petroleum products.

Information on the visit is contained in a statement issued by Mr Lawson Ngoa, the Secretary, IPMAN Reconciliation Committee, on Thursday in Abuja.

The statement quoted Ngoa as saying "the Committee in carrying out its task as scheduled and will visit all NNPC depots and other private depots in the country.

"This is part of its efforts to address some of the challenges in the petroleum product distribution and supply in the country.''

This act, he added, had exacerbated the scarcity in Nigeria and assured that the Association would assist government in making petroleum products available in abundance.

He called on marketers, stakeholders and the public to pray and assist its activities.

Ngoa reiterated the reconciliation committee's appreciation to the Minister of State for Petroleum Resoures, Dr Ibe Kachikwu, ``for his support and assurances to address the crisis in the downstream oil sector.''

He appealed to marketers to exercise patience and urged marketers who had pending tickets to send their names and depots to the committee in the zones.
