Alhaji Korodo made the comment during a recent appearance on Frankly Speaking With Jola Sotubo.
“Our refineries need to be working optimally. Those who were issued licences to invest in refinery infrastructure should be encouraged. They should give them a very enabling environment and those who fail to be on site, they should collect their licences,” he said.
“Apart from that, we need more refineries, like modular ones… we need more than four refineries in this country. If we can produce locally, to meet our daily consumption, it will be much better,” he added.
He also urged the government to legitimize illegal refineries and added that it would take a while for the fuel scarcity to disappear.
