The video was said to have been presented to the  FCT high court, Lugbe, showing billionaire  Femi Otedola giving out a parcel to Lawan, allegedly containing $100,000.

Lawan is a four-term member of the House of Representatives for the Bagwai/Shanono Federal Constituency of Kano State.

He chaired the House committee on petroleum matters at the 7th assembly, which investigated the subsidy fraud in 2012.

The committee had found some oil companies culpable of defrauding the federal government via spurious subsidy claim and Zenon Petroleum and Gas Company, belonging to Otedola was found culpable.

As the Tuesday hearing, Justice Angela Otaruku granted the request of the prosecuting counsel, Adegboyega Awomolo (SAN), to play the video as evidence that Lawan collected the bribe, The Cable reports.

"The video I just played are those of Mr Femi Otedola and Hon. Farouq Lawan where there was an exchange of parcel at Otedola’s house in Aso drive, Abuja," said Awomolo after playing the three-minutes clip.

The DSS prosecutor told the court that the DSS delegated him to record the video because of his background as an electronic and telecommunication engineer.

According to him, he did not take part in the arrest and detention of Lawan, stressing that he only recorded the said video.

While cross-examining the DSS prosecutor, the defendant's counsel, Mike Ozekhome said the device used in playing the CD was not dated.

He said there was nothing to prove that Lawan was at Otedola's house to receive a bribe.

Lawan's lawyer added that there was nothing in the video to suggest that bribery was discussed because the word "bribe" was not heard in the video.

Justice Otaruku adjourned the trial until May 10, and ordered the DSS counsel to bring his other witnesses to court on that day.
