The party in a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Mr Dayo Adeyeye, said every organ of PDP celebrated Fayose’s achievements as governor of Ekiti.

He stated that “it is noteworthy that Gov. Ayodele Fayose demonstrated uncommon leadership qualities in service delivery to his home state, Ekiti and Nigeria in general during his first tenure as governor from 2003 to 2006.

“Your second term in office from 2014 to date has equally epitomized your achievements in infrastructure, policies and programmes in the state which is in compliance with the manifesto of the PDP.

“Your achievements in office has placed Ekiti State on a pedestal higher than other states in the South-West Zone of Nigeria. Keep it up!.”

Adeyeye noted that Fayose had contributed his wealth of experience and sagacity in developing Ekiti State as governor.

He added that the governor had steadfastly defended the PDP and well-meaning Nigerians by holding the Federal Government accountable on all its campaign promises.

“We want to assure you that the entire PDP family and other well people in Nigeria and in the Diaspora are standing strong with you.”

The party however implored him not to be deterred in the face of unrelentless harassment, intimidation and gagging against opposition.

“We wish you 56 happy cheers on your birthday.

“We pray the Almighty God bless and protect you and your family with long life and more prosperity to continue serving Ekiti State and indeed Nigerians with your fearless and courageous disposition."
