The Governor said this following the President’s commentthat he did not know that the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris did not obey his order.

Buhari, while speaking to a select group of Benue indigenes during his 1 day official visit, said that he did not know that Idris did not spend up to 24 hours in the state before going to Nasarawa state.

On January 8, 2018, the President ordered the Inspector General of Police to relocate to Benue state to prevent the escalation of the herdsmen-farmers crisis.

Speaking further on Buhari’s comment, the Ekiti state Governor also said “What manner of a President will give order to the IGP on January 9, only to be telling Nigerians on March 12 (2 months after) that he never knew that the IGP disobeyed his order? Does this President really know anything about happenings around him, not to talk aboutNigeria?”

Meanwhile, the former Governor of Benue state, George Akume told Buhari, during his visit, that the Tiv people are angry with him.

Akume also said that the President’s body language towards the killings in Benue upset the Tivs.
