Gov's bank account reportedly contained N1.2bn

A deposit of N500m was reportedly traced to the frozen bank account after the money was allegedly received from the ex-NSA office.

According to a report by SaharaReporters, sources at anti-graft  commission revealed that Fayose's account was frozen in connection with over N1.2billion he allegedly got in 2014 from the National Security Adviser (NSA), Sambo Dasuki for his re-election campaign.

It was further reported that sources claimed Fayose received sums of money from the office of the NSA with which he bribed security officials and voters to get into the Ekiti governorship for the second time.

A deposit of N500m was reportedly traced to the frozen bank account after the money was allegedly received from the ex-NSA office.

Some Nigerian Army officials, who were alleged to have gotten bribe from the governor wwere reported to have aided the findings of the EFCC after they were referred by the Army before they were compulsorily retired from service.

The report further revealed that after winning his election, Fayose deposited monies into his personal account and that of his Spotless Hotel in Ekiti, venue of the infamous rigging meeting.

Fayose's Zenith bankaccount was frozen on orders by the EFCC when attempts to make withdrawals with his cheque failed.
