FCT Court grants Governor's aide N50m bail

Governor Ayodele Fayose's aide, Abiodun Agbele, was granted N50 million bail by the FCT High court sitting in Abuja.

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court sitting in Abuja on Thursday, July 21, 2016 granted the bail of N50 million to Abiodun Agbele, an aide to Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti state.

Mr Agbele is expected to provide two sureties of the Director Cadre in the civil service.

Agbele was accused of receiving huge public funds from former Minister of State for Defence, Musiliu Obanikoro and delivered same to Governor Fayose.

Agbele is also being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for allegedly buying properties for Fayose from the N1.219 billion he received from Mr Obanikoro on behalf of Governor Fayose during the build up to the Ekiti Governorship election in June 2014.
