EFCC may re-arrest ex-minister as he returns to court on Nov 10

There are claims Femi Fani-Kayode will be re-arrested as he is scheduled to be arraigned by the EFCC on November 10.

Fani-Kayode, who has remained in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, will be arraigned for allegedly receiving about N26 million from ex-National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki.

According to a report by Premium Times, an EFCC source disclosed that if granted bail on the same day, he will be rearrested and slammed with fresh charges of allegedly collecting another N22 million from  Dasuki.

Speaking on Fani-Kayode's arraignment on November 10, 2016, EFCC spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren, said: “It is true he has been served (on the N26 million charge) and the case will come up on November 10.”

On October 21, 2016 Fani-Kayode was arrested outside the courtroom, where he had been facing a separate money laundering trial since June 2016.

Fani-Kayode is standing trial for getting different amounts of funds from the $2.1 billion meant for procurement of arms.
