Lawyer wants Army to release Brig.-Gen. Enitan Ransome-Kuti

Falana accused the military of unjustly sentencing and dismissing his client from the Nigerian Army.
According to Punch, the lawyer decried the fact that Ransome-Kuti was still in military custody after spending four calendar months.
Falana also added that his client’s continued detention was not in line with the Armed Forces Act and the Constitution.
Punch reports that Falana also said he might “approach the court for the enforcement of Ransome-Kuti’s fundamental right to personal liberty guaranteed by section 35 of the Constitution and Article 6 of the African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights (Ratification and Enforcement) Act.”
The human rights lawyer recently dragged the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to court over weak Naira.
