Gov. Wike pledges peaceful Sallah celebration in Rivers

He gave the assurance in a message to mark the celebration of Eid-el Fitr on Saturday in Port Harcourt.

Wike felicitated with Muslims on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast and advised them to use the period to pray for the unity of the country.

He also urged them to live the life of the Holy Prophet Muhammad by cultivating the ideals of sacrifice exemplified by the Prophet.

The governor reminded them that the season called for the promotion of love, peace and friendship.

Wike also urged Nigerians to ensure religious tolerance, adding that such virtue ensure would peace across the country and enhance national development.

He assured the Muslim community and all residents of the state of government determination to improve the lives of the citizens.

Wike also commended the Muslim community in Rivers for their consistent support for his administration.
