The Economic Financial Crimes Commission has reportedly discovered N5 billion in a bank account owned by the daughter of an Army General.

According to an anonymous source quoted by The Sun, investigations into the account revealed that N10 million was consistently deposited into the account 5 to 6 times within one day.

It was also disclosed that the army general's daughter, whose name and that of her father were withheld, recently got married.

The account officer, who was interrogated by the EFCC, was said to have given useful information which led to the to the invitation of the general’s daughter in August.

The young lady was said to have pleaded with the commission to give her time to appear as she was nursing her infant child.

Eventually, she showed up at the EFCC office two weeks ago, in company of her mother, baby, husband and lawyer, and was interrogated for two days, report said.

It was gathered that she was not detained because she is a nursing mother.

“Details of the account show that cash deposits of about N10 million were consistently paid into the account sometimes five or six times a day. The money so far deposited into that account and another in London should well be over N5 billion”, the source said.

It was also discovered that hundreds of thousands of Pound Sterling were wired into the  the bank account of a London based firm for her even though she was still a student in the UK.

The firm, Carrington Whyte Consulting with Flat 4, Grove End Gardens 33 Grove End Road NW8 9LL London, as its address, was curiously registered around June 2014 and shortly after, the funds began to hit its bank account from Nigeria in torrents, report said.

The general's daughter, who is  on administrative bail, is expected to report back to the EFCC next week for further interrogation.
