DSS guns down brother of notorious kidnapper

The DSS has killed kidnapper Don Waney's brother in Edo State.

According to the police, Obatosu was killed by operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) on Saturday January 27, at Sabo Iyakpe, Etsako West in Edo State.

Obatosu's lifeless body was displayed at the headquarters of 6 Division, Nigerian Army, Port Harcourt, Monday.

State Commissioner of Police in Rivers, Zaki Ahmed, says “This is indeed the fruit of collaborative effort by the security agencies to get the State free of crime and cultism. No evil doer will go free. Every youth should shun crime and embrace peace.

“Oluchi Igwedibia was caught up by law in Auchi, Edo State, where he ran to and was planning to come back and attack his local government before he was killed. The law caught up with him”.

Death of the cultists

Obatosu joined his brother to murder 22 on January 1, 2018, police say.

He was subsequently declared wanted alongside 32 other infamous cultists who had operated with impunity in the Rivers/Niger Delta area.

On January 7, 2018, Colonel Aminu Iliyasu who is Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, told Pulse that Don Waney had been killed in a shootout in Enugu where he had fled to; as the manhunt for him intensified.
