Senator Dino Melaye has expressed displeasure at the huge allowances set to be paid to Nigerian lawmakers describing them as ‘bogus.’

“I expect the APC leadership to take a stand on bogus allowances in the NASS. I say no to huge allowances in the prevailing economic hardship,” the Senator tweeted on Wednesday, June 17, 2015.

Nigerians had expressed outrage after reports of the proposed allowance emerged.

However, Senator Ajayi Boroffice of Ondo State has said that the sum is meant for the miscellaneous allowances of the legislators and not just the wardrobe allowance.
