Presidency says investigations still ongoing into fraud allegations against ex-NSA

Following his alleged indictment by the committee set up to look into various arms deals since 2007, Dasuki released a comprehensive statement, telling his own side of the story.

Former National Security Adviser, Mohammed Sambo Dasuki.

President Buhari's media aide, Femi Adesina said the Presidency will not join matters with the former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, because the committee's investigation is still ongoing.

He said he was just a clearing house, adding that the former service chiefs made equipment request, and also made purchases by themselves.

He also took a swipe at Femi Adesina saying “The statement issued by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, who should know better as a former President of the Nigerian Guild of Editors and a witness to history, was nothing sort of propaganda to cast aspersions on Dasuki.”

When contacted to comment on the issue by Punch Newspapers, Adesina said “We won’t reply Dasuki. Investigation is still ongoing and it will not be appropriate for us to be replying him. What the panel submitted is just the preliminary report.”
