The source however told ThisDay that at least half of the girls are alive and that they are being held in secret locations in the North-East.
The source said:
“We will never find all the girls again as intelligence findings revealed some have died, and some married away, while the rest are still divided among the terror groups in different locations both within the North-east and some neighbouring countries.”
The over 200 girls were abducted from their school in Borno State by Boko Haram terrorists on April 14, 2014, and most of them remain in captivity.
Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari has said that he would negotiate with the insurgents if it meant securing the girls’ release.
