President Muhammadu Buhari will, today, September 14, 2015, embark on an official visit to France.

Buhari is expected to spend three days in Paris following an invitation by President Francois Hollande.

According to a statement by presidential media aide, Femi Adesina, the Nigerian president is visiting France in a bid to strengthen bilateral cooperation between Nigeria and France in the areas of defense, security, trade and investments.

“The president is responding to an invitation extended to him by president Hollande of France. Nigeria and France have been allies for a while. You have plenty of French companies doing business in Nigeria and vice versa. So, it’s an opportunity to strengthen the bonds of brotherliness,” Adesina said.
