Senator Saraki has thrown out Senate members' rejection of President Buhari's ambassadorial nominees at a plenary on Tuesday.
Saraki vetoed the rejection of nominees by the members of the Senate after it was put to voice vote during a plenary on Tuesday, November 1, 2016.
Punch report says despite the obvious fact that the “nays” were more than the “ayes,” the Senate President ruled in favour of the “ayes.”
The drama occurred minutes after the Senate had voted and rejected Buhari’s request for legislative approval for his $30bn external borrowing plan.
Before now, two nominees, Usman Bugaje from Katsina and Pauline Tallen from Plateau State, had rejected their nomination while some state governors have decried their non-involvement in appointment by President Buhari.
