President to visit Cameroon after Ramadan for Boko Haram talks

President Muhammadu Buhari is set to pay a visit to Cameroon for talks on Boko Haram after the Ramadan fast.

Buhari accepted an invitation sent by President Paul Biya from the Cameroonian Minister of Territorial Administration and Decentralization, Sadi Emmanuel on Tuesday, June 23, 2015.

“I am happy that the President has sent you. As you must have observed, I was in Niger and Chad over this issue. I planned to be in Cameroon afterwards, but I received an invitation to attend the Group of Seven (G7) meeting in Germany,” Buhari said.

“I had to attend the meeting because Boko Haram has been internationalised and it was part of the discussions there,” he added.

Buhari also explained that would sue his experience as a former soldier to spearhead the war against Boko Haram while adding that greater regional and international cooperation was needed to end the atrocities of the terrorist group.
