‘President may be coming back sooner than expected,’ Femi Adesina says [VIDEO]

Adesina also said that Buhari’s return would come as a surprise to those who had been spreading rumours that he was dead.

President Buhari

The presidential aide made the comments on Tuesday, February 7, during an appearance on Channels TV.

“In his communication to the National Assembly, it was not indicated, and we just have to stay with what he has told us, but what I’ll just say is that the president may be coming back sooner than expected,” he said.

“Because we hear all the rumours, we see all the malice, all the mischief, all the malevolence against the president; all those people will be surprised, the president may be coming back sooner than they think,” he added.

Concerns have been heightened over Buhari’s health status since he departed the country for a 10-day medical vacation in January.

The situation was escalated after Buhari, on Sunday, February 5, announced an indefinite extension of his medical leave.

Adesina had earlier stated that only the president could reveal the true status of his health to Nigerians, a sentiment which has been echoed by Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo.
