The General Overseer of the Latter Rain Assembly, Dr Tunde Bakare has said that President Muhammadu Buhari is helpless concerning the insecurity plaguing Nigeria.

Bakare however said that Buhari’s administration can’t be described as clueless concerning the issue since it had made some moves to combat Boko Haram.

The controversial preacher reportedly made the comments on Sunday, November 8, 2015, while speaking on Channels TV.

“President Buhari’s administration is not clueless but helpless on the issue of insecurity,” he said.

“He met with neighbouring countries, changed service chiefs and formed ties with the leaders of the Western nations to seek their support in tackling insurgency. That is why we must all rise up to support his administration,” he added.

Bakare also said that the president’s December 2015 deadline for ending the insurgency was given out of optimism.

Buhari gave the deadline to Nigeria’s service chiefs while decorating them in August.
