Presidency denies plans to relocate chapel

President Muhammadu Buhari

The Presidency has denied reports that President Muhammadu Buhari is planning to relocate the Aso Rock chapel from beside his room window.

Buhari was reportedly uncomfortable with the location of the church and as such had decided to move it.

However, according to Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo’s media aide, Laolu Akande, the reports are false.

“Claims that @MBuhari moved against Christian activities in Aso Rock Chapel have since been shown to be false,” Akande said via Twitter on Wednesday, September 16, 2015.

“The sorting out of procedural issues cannot be a fair basis to accuse the President of moving against the Chapel,” he added.

The chapel was built by former President, Olusegun Obasanjo who sought to enjoy religious worship and services from the comfort of his room.
