'NTA, AIT rejected my campaign adverts' - President recounts

He noted that AIT  also rejected Buhari's campaign advertisement as the station returned their money.

President Muhammadu Buhari has recounted how the Jonathan administration frustrated his Presidential bid by turning the media against him.

According to the President's Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, who represented him at the The Red Media Summit in Lagos on Thursday, October 15, the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and the African Independent Television (AIT) refused to run their adverts.

“I remember on a particular night I called NTA, they had 16 slots of one minute ads and I said I wanted to buy one minute for the Buhari campaign, they said all 16 had been sold," Shehu said.

He added, “Some other instances that exposed the partisan nature of the NTA: money was returned to us, and from AIT money was returned to us. They simply won’t advertise for us.”
