LG pays N6.7m compensation for new school in President's village
Alhaji Sade Zango, the Acting Chairman of the Council, made the disclosure in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Mai’adua.
He said that 23 owners of the 300-meter plot of land received the compensation.
The acting council chairman explained that the land was used for the establishment of a junior secondary school in Dumurkol village, to increase access to education and decongest existing secondary schools in the area.
Zango commended the land owners for their peaceful nature, show of patriotism and love for education, assuring that the local council would provide more developmental projects to the area.
One of the beneficiaries, Malam Hafiz Dumurkol described the building of an additional school in the village as a welcome development.
He said that the new secondary school would add value to the community where President Muhammadu Buhari hailed from.
NAN reports that the Government Day Junior Secondary School, Dumurkol, established in 2017, has since commenced academic activities.
