She urged the management of the police to continue to provide officers with the opportunity to acquire skills that would make them more effective and professional.

The director said that the training curriculum was developed based on the present environment in the North-East.

Earlier, the Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Training, Mr Emmanuel Inyang, said the training had proffered workable solutions and guiding template to the police on restoration of civil authority in the North-East.

He urged the participants to utilise the knowledge acquired as they progressed in their career.

Speaking on behalf of the participants, CSP Odudu Modebe said the training would enhance their capacity to promote, preserve and protect human rights in the course of their duty.

He suggested a practical exposure of participants abroad to gain international exposure.

Modebe also suggested that practical field sessions should be included in the curriculum and the course duration be expanded as a week was too short to acquire meaningful learning.

Modebe also called for the sustenance of the programme by government to enable participants to become experts in the subject matter.
