"Troops have this morning completed clearing terrorists out of Goniri in YOBE state” the DHQ tweeted.
This makes Yobe the second state to be cleared of the terrorists after Adamawa was recently declared Boko Haram-free.
Borno State is now currently the only state being occupied by the insurgents but troops have scored a major victory even in that state as they have recaptured Bama, the state’s second largest town, from Boko Haram.
