Terrorists reportedly kill senior army officer in Borno

The officer, who hasn’t been named, was caught in an ambush by the insurgents along Maiduguri-Bama Road on Tuesday, December 15, 2015.

According to reports, Boko Haramterrorists have killed a Lieutenant Colonel in Borno State.

The officer, who hasn’t been named, was caught in an ambush by the insurgents along Maiduguri-Bama Road on Tuesday, December 15, 2015, Daily Trust reports.

The terrorists were said to have ambushed a military convoy which was returning to Bama after a working visit to Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.

A source told Daily Trust that the Boko Haram members opened fire on the convoy when it slowed down at a bad portion of the road.

Other soldiers are said to have been injured in the attack but the incident is yet to be confirmed by the relevant military authorities.

The latest attack comes just days after insurgents slaughtered 30 people in attacks on three communities in the state.
