Terrorists kill 4 in Plateau

The attack reportedly took place over the weekend (April 25-26, 2015) in Shonong village in the Riyom Local Government Area of the state.

Boko Haram terrorists

Suspected Boko Haram terrorists are said to have killed four people in Plateau state.

The suspected terrorists are said to have caught the villagers and security agents in the area by surprise.

“The gunmen are Boko Haram and they have sacked the entire village. There are strong indications that the gunmen will attack more villages, so we are fleeing our homes with others from nearby villages,” a villager, Chundung Chollom, told Vanguard.

Members of the Special Task Force (STF) in the area are reported to have also fled for fear of the terrorists.

However, STF Media Officer, Captain Ikedichi Iweha denied the reports of a Boko Haram attack saying instead that what happened was a clash between Fulani herdsmen and members of the state security outfit, Operation Rainbow.
