Boko Haram terrorists have killed 12 people in Damasak, Borno State, emerging reports say.

The terrorists are said to have attacked the town at about 4:30am on Tuesday, July 14, 2015, according to Reuters.

"They came in Hilux vehicles (pick-up trucks) and motorcycles, set fire to all the houses but all the residents have fled the town since last weekend when troops from the Multi-National Joint Task Force (MNJTF) were withdrawing to Niger," a local vigilante leader, who chose to remain anonymous, said.

"Boko Haram also burnt down all the houses, cars and other vehicles including two trailers," a bus driver, Bukar Aji also said confirming the incident.
