The terrorists reportedly attacked residents of Madari village in the Kukawa Local Government Area of the state on Wednesday, December 17, and allegedly abducted a young woman and her two- year old child.
According to Vanguard, a driver, Mallam Abor Modu said of the attack:
“I had to stop with five of my passengers when I saw a Chadian resembling a Boko Haram terrorist in a Toyota Hilux vehicle mounted with a Multipurpose Machine gun.”
“One of the terrorists approached me and asked where I was coming from? I told him that I was coming from Cross Kauwa and he asked me again where I hail from. I told him that I come from Yusufari and he further asked me where my passengers came from and I told him they were going to Bindari,” he added.
“Then he left. After some time one of them came again and asked what I was doing? I told him I am supplicating he too left again. While I was still supplicating, I saw them killing a driver of a Peugeot Station Wagon vehicle and five of his passengers. They later abducted a young woman and her two- year old child.”
“When a Mercedes Benz driver came with speed, they opened fire on them killing all the occupants of the vehicle. When the driver of a Hummer bus came with his passengers, he was lucky to have escaped, as they were opening fire on him as he succeeded in making a U- turn but some of his passengers alighted from the bus and ran into the bush,” Modu said.
The police in the state are yet to confirm the attack and no official casualty figure has been released.
