Armed gunmen suspected to be members of the Boko Haram terrorist sect on Monday, September 26, 2016, invaded Kuburvwa, a village near Chibok town.

Abbas Gava, a member of the vigilante group who spoke to Premium Times said the armed men stormed the community at about 6.30pm.

“As I am speaking to you now the gunmen are setting every house on fire after chasing the villagers away”, Gava said.

“From the information, we have received from our operatives in Chibok and Kautikari, the number of casualties cannot be ascertained for now because the Boko Haram insurgents are still in the village,” he added.

Meanwhile, Tukur Buratai the chief or army staff  has described Abubakar Shekau, factional leader of the Boko Haram sect, as a mad man.

This is even as the Nigeria military recently admitted that some of its officers have betrayed the country by selling arms to Boko Haram terrorists.
